Supamahn's Birthday Tourney!!!

INTRO
Alright, this is my first time hosting a tournament and what better time to host one than for my birthday? :laugh: This is a small local tournament nothing huge or to fly in from another country for. However, this won't be a very small tournament but will be small. There are around 20 confirmed players attending from my high school, Kwantlen Park Secondary.

WHERE AND WHEN
Now that the introduction is done, I'll explain where and when it's happening. It's in the basement of my home and NOT a local venue. The address is 13059 100 AVENUE. It's going to start at around 12pm or 1pm depending on the amount of people showing up but 1pm at latest. The doors will open at around 10am so come early if you want for warm ups or friendlies.

WHAT'S HAPPENING
This is a BRAWL ONLY TOURNAMENT. No Brawl + or Melee. There will be 2 TV's and 2 Wii's set up. First will be singles, then doubles and if there is enough time or people left, crew battles. There will be food but only Pizza and that will be ordered at around 3pm or 4pm so bring something to eat with you or bring some cash with you to grab a bite to eat in the local plaza which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the house. The tourney will end at around 6 or 7pm or earlier if everything is done. Feel free to hang around if the tournament is done earlier than that. The seeding for this tournament is RANDOM.

FEES & PAYOUTS
There will be a $3 entrance fee only. Once you pay $3, you can do anything you want. Enter doubles or singles or both. Spectators will have to pay the $3 entrance fee as well. NOTE: Check with me before leaving the tournament to grab something to eat or just to go for a walk. Once you leave without my knowledge, you will be asked to pay another $3 to enter again. So PLEASE tell me before leaving. There will be payouts for SINGLES ONLY. There won't be enough money to give out for doubles, sorry. The pot will be distributed in a 60/30/10 fashion with the top 3 getting prize money. You can also add money to the pot if you wish but make sure to inform me first.

RULES
There are two sets of rules, for gaming and behaviour.

BEHAVIOUR
Respect people who are there. Don't take anything that isn't yours. DO NOT go upstairs. Don't be a ****** and mess around because you could cross that line. Don't dress like a thug because there are going to be parents around. No drugs or alcohol. Break any of those rules and you will be escorted out and you will not get your money back.

BRAWL

General Rules:
* 3 Stock

* 8 minute timer

* Items are set to "off" and "none"

* All sets with the exception of winner's finals, loser's finals, and the championship are best of 3 matches (best of 5 and above should be played out for any "finals" matches)

* In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors

* No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.

* In team matches, the ports will be determined in a 1221 fashion; whoever wins the RPS will choose first, then the opposing team will get their ports, and then the teammate of the RPS winner will get the last port.

* If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage.

* Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.

* If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser.

* You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you're using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.

* Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

* Stalling is banned.

Set Format:
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure
3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counterpicks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

MISC
Just some things I forgot to mention. Bring your own controllers. There will be controllers provided, but if they are in use and you are unable to get a holdof one, you will be unable to play. The STAGE SELECTION LIST will be posted in the basement so you can always look at what to pick. Additional rules will also be posted in the basement. Now that everything is done, the most important rule, HAVE FUN :)
