Suddenly used Up in d-pad and grab button at the same time...

I suddenly performed an uncharged up smash using Villager and I was shocked about it. I tried again for good measure but it returns to a grab. Tried again for many times but I seldom performed it properly. Also, I did this in the demo version. Is this ever possible? ^_^

The grab button on the 3ds actually acts as a pseudo smash button as well. Never heard anything about pressing on the d pad though...

As I understand it, this happens because of how buffering works and how the Grab button is just a quick way of inputting shield + A. Depending on your timing, the direction and A inputs take priority over the shield input and an attack will be performed, rather than a grab.
