Who here thinks that "The Subspace Emissary" would make for an excellent manga?

At least if it's drawn just right?

And should there be any dialogue in it or no?

Discuss!

If it's not done officially, I'll convince my fellow Smasher and awesome artist to help me make one!

A manga would be neat. OOT and Majora's Mask both got manga.

Big, spooky castle in eastern europe.
WARNING! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

Merchandising is Satan's way of darkening the earth! Remember what happened to Sonic after they let Archie start making comics about hi. . .

Oh, wait a minute. Manga. Riiiiiiiight. That's totally different.

This looks like a job for the Rikdo.

I dunno. I'm sure I would disagree with a lot of the character designs of a Manga based off of a game based off of a bunch of other games. But anything with a decent plotline would make a good manga....but Brawl doesn't have any speaking now that I think about it....would that mean narration or a gesture based comic? lol

Well, in the Zelda mangas Link was given a voice (blasphemy, I know, but they were interesting mangas...) so I could see them giving silent characters voices in a Brawl manga.

And it doesn't have to be exactly like the game, but that could be a good or bad thing. After all, the Zelda mangas didn't follow the games 100% completely...

I would read it...but then again I am a Manga freak.

It could potentially work if the right person drew it and if it added more stuff (as it looks like the SSE is going to have like 40 second cutscenes)

Manga is Japanese-style comic. Manga does mean comic in Japanese. A SSE manga would be pretty interesting, I think.

Y'know, I think I would buy a SE manga, and I'm not even into them. Subspace Emissary is the first stab at integrating the many worlds of Super Smash Bros. together, and if they develop the storyline better and give them some actual speaking parts and better-defined motives it would make an amazing story.

If it was drawn correctly, and the moves they used were based off of the in game moves, and the lack of dialogue was handled well, then it would be SO FRICKIN AWESOME

Because manga is drawn in a MUCH different style then the comics we know. PLUS comics we have here, like Superman, you get a billion different version with a billion different origins, from a billion different artists. Not so with manga.

Wasn't this discussed earlier? It'd work, I guess. As long as we get an artist who doesn't bring fanservice on the female characters. That would be, well, wrong. But it COULD work...

So then howcome you don't just call it a comic?
Manga is the Japanese word for 'comic'. But, for us Western folks it's the term for japanese comics. It's just a name, really.
