I certainly wouldn't mind a Mortal Kombat character make it into Smash even though I've never played a game in the series before. It worked for Ryu so why not.

He did not blatantly insult the Wii U in my opinion. He put the word "dead" in quotes. If he meant to blatantly insult it, he would have just called it a dead system without the scare quotes.
