Smash 3DS StreetPass's Function?

As you probably already know, the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros 4 is less than two weeks away from its Japanese release. While we have had a slew of new info as of late, the only thing we are still left in the dark about more or less is StreetPass, a unique 3DS feature that allows one to meet other people or rather their Miis and enjoy exclusive StreetPass content which varies from game to game. In Mario Kart 7 for example, online ghost data is received through StreetPass and allows you to race against other players times on the different courses. What I'm asking is...

What do YOU feel will be StreetPass's purpose on the 3DS version of smash 4?

I figured it was that but when was it confirmed. I remember people guessing it was that but no confirmation.

I don't have the link (still looking for it), but remember the Smash 3DS Japan back box art that was revealed? Well, someone translated it and one of the things on it said 'Streetpass function: Streetpass Minigame.'

I would hope all of those would be part of StreetPass!
