no, street fighter fans would not like the changes that would need to be made to incorporate an sf character into smash. plus, mm would be in if capcom gets a say

I think its a good idea although id rather it be Vega and Ken.

Mortal Kombat would be better suited.

no. SF characters only have places in this game as ATs. 'sides, If any capcom chars get in, it will most definetly be megaman.

No it wouldn't. There's no way that capcom would let it happen. I do like street fighter though.

And for theres also no way that Mortal Kombat chars would be in brawl. Especially since Mortal Kombat is rated M.

While I do want to see more 3rd party characters (maybe 5-6 total), I don't think taking characters who are from fighting games to begin with would work. I'd rather see people like Mega Man, Sonic, etc. It would fit more into the SSB theme of taking characters from various non-fighting games, and putting them all together in a fighting game... if that makes sense.

But I would hate to see SF mixed with smash. It doesnt work man.
How does it not work?

I'm a Street Fighter fan, and I would like to see Street Fighter characters in Smash. Also, what "changes" are you talking about?

How do you figure that?

SF is one of the most recognizable game series in history. And I personally think it has a larger fan base then Megaman too. The only reason Megaman would get in over a SF character is because he's Capcom's unofficial mascot.

I don't think any MK characters will be in either, but if Snake can get in then so could MK characters.

Since when is that the theme? You can't just add words in to support what you want the theme to be. The theme is characters from various video games, not from various non-fighting games. Snake was in a fighting game, btw, so I guess he goes against the "theme".

Because RYU and KEN have been in like.. 20 games at least, capcom vs snk, marvel vs capcom, street fighter, sf 2, sf alpha, sf alpha 2, sf alpha 3

I love all of them, Ken, Ryu, Akuma. But their moveset is perfect for a 2d health based extremly technical fighter a game like smash would look just plain weird with shroyukens and hadokens all over the place.

I just dont want the two fighters to mix, and they wont. Ken ryu and akuma wont be in brawl, Id put 6 million $ on it.

Metal Gear Solid is not a fighting game. Street Fighter is a fighting game, as is Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Virtua Fighter.

How about to the entire fighting engine?

In SF you can walk back and forth, jump, crouch, and perform six attacks: LP, MP, HP, LK, MK, HK (light/medium/hard punch/kick). Also, your character always faces toward the other character, since there are only two people per match. In Smash, the controls are decidedly different, so the way a character handles would be different. I'm guessing the person you quoted meant to say that the SF would not control or handle the way they did in the past, and people wouldn't like that.

SF & SSB should never mix no matter how awesome each of them are. It's already been said though,Megaman would be the first choice.

I'm not following your logic at all. It sounds like what you're saying is "I don't want them in, so they can't be." And unless you have some kind of influence over how the game is being made, that doesn't make any sense.

Nobody said it was.

So what? None of the other characters in Smash control the same as they do in their own games either. Ryu would probably control more closely to the way he does in his games then any other character in Smash controls in their games.

If anything, being from a fighting game makes you easier to implement into another fighting game. Not the other way around. Also, Megaman has been in fighting games too.

Bottom line: It would a very bad idea to have characters from other fighting games in Smash. It's redundant for one, and they have no business bringing their lower class fighting game into Smash.
