I think that commentary is important, but you really should invest in some sort of nicer mic than a laptop mic, since they are known for being horrendous. Just my thoughts.

Crappy mic + game audio > mic audio > game audio > mute
Mic upgrades sound pretty nice though. If you're going to use a desktop mic, get a USB one, not a mic jack mic. USB is so much better. I recommend a Blue Snowball ($50)

Regardless of how bad it sounds, having commentary along with game sound is going to be far more interesting and entertaining to watch than any of the other options.
