Smash Apprentice
So this is going to be rather vague...BUT, I was playing as Sonic the other day against a computer (I know, I know, but it has no bearing on what actually happened). I was at Pokemon Stadium 1, on the neutral setting, and I was standing on the ground when I got smashed. I forget who it was that hit me, but I ended up going in a downward angle so that I skidded along the floor and should have skidded right off the stage to my doom (I was at like 145% or so). But as I got hit, I jammed the control stick opposite of my momentum. I skidded to the edge of the stage, I momentarily grabbed the ledge and then let go because of the momentum, so instead of flying to the side, I dropped down below the stage and was able to recover. I realize that this story might be confusing, but I guess what I'm thinking is that if we can find a way to do this consistently, we might be able to deal with attacks from taller players that send us along the floor of the stage better. I don't know. I just thought it was really strange at the time, and still do. Anyways, let me know if you want clarification or anything.
