Strange glitch in online mode switches players

Alright before I start I don't have any video evidence or what not about this so you'll have to go by my word.

I was playing some guy on Smash Wii U named Phil. He was a purple Link and I was Shulk. I was repeatedly beating him so I guess he RQ when I KO'D him since the little red Smash ball came up for 5 seconds (Link hit the screen so he had time to menu quit I guess). After Shulk dances I return to the CSS. Except instead of being P1, I was P2. I couldn't move the cursor, nor could I back out. Start button worked and I was sent to the training area. Except this time I was purple Link and it said my name was "Phil." For 2P, it said my name and that I was "in mid smash." Then the game was about to start, but I was disconnected and banned for 10 minutes.

Has this happened to anyone else? Or something similar?

I guess if I quit the match when I had the chance I wouldn't have been banned. It was really funny though. For a second I thought somehow our accounts got switched on the entire console.

This happened to me long time ago, well over a month actually. My opponent was a Duck Hunt Dog and I was Link, after the match ended we were taken back to the character selection screen, but I was apparently my opponent and I was able to see everything he was doing ._. . I couldn't get out of it either, and I was watching him waiting for me to pick my character and everything, beating up the CPU Duck Hunt Dog. My only option was to turn my 3DS off, it was so weird.
