As I would like to keep simple voting posts out of the main thread, I'll be creating these threads to condense discussion of who to talk about in the future. Please consider your choices, as this affects progress. Also, I'm going to make votes public because I want to know who is voting on what; and, whether or not they have (good) reasons to back up what they wish to talk about. If I see any trolly votes or those that seem a bit outlandish, I'm going to disregard them unless I'm certain that something will come about putting the character forth.

... As for what constitutes a dumb vote...? Well, that should be according to the criterion I posted in the master thread. Unless there's something about Charizard, for example, that we just HAVE to know about, I think it would be more logical if we talked about rising metagame stars, or problematic matchups for Sonic like those with strong projectile/zone-control games... of which I could give you a laundry list, I'm not going to give specific names.

edit: Huh... apparently when the option to make the post public is selected, it doesn't tell me who voted; rather, what options have been voted for.

... Alright. I guess. Not exactly what I wanted; but, this is a learning experience for me.

... Nevermind! Clicking the option itself allows me to see who voted. You're all under my watch, now~...!

Alright! So, a note to those reading: I've decided to limit votes to one. I understand that some people may want to talk about multiple matchups or can't decide on which one may be more important to bring up sooner; but, you have to understand, this project is in its baby steps. I need to take it slow, and I want to move at a consistent pace. If I feel that progression can happen more quickly, I'll allow it then; but, for now, I'd like to keep it simple and clean. I tried to get more extravagant even after I released the product... it didn't quite work-out the way I intended.

At any rate; please cast your vote wisely! The other reason I'm condensing it into one is because I don't want it to get too messy with stray votes here and there.

Does voting for a matchup because "i don't know how to fight this character for the life of me" count as a dumb one?

Serious question.

Sounds like the motivation for almost all match-up discussions, especially this early in the game. lol

Surprised Falcon is coming up if it's meant to be a problem matchup. I'mma throw one in for Fox, not too common, but a ballache of a matchup.

Fox would be a good one, but I think Falcon is actually a match-up where we suffer from similar problems.

Falcon, even being a trash tier character in Brawl, did pretty well against Sonic. Ally would CP Sonic with him all the time. With his buffs now he can definitely put in even more work against us.

Every character no matter how trash in brawl did pretty well against Sonic lol. Falcon is probably more common than Fox so it would make sense.

i say we discuss ZSS as i think she can give sonic a lot of trouble. Atleast she gives me trouble from the little experience i've had vs her.

So it goes without saying that I will no longer be accepting any further votes cast in this thread. If you want to put in a say for week 3's character, you will have to do that in another thread.

However, now would be a good time to ask all of you:

What would you all prefer? That we limit the potential votes for next week's character from this ballet, ala: we only vote for the characters which had ballets this week (C. Falcon, Diddy, Fox, Link, Ness, Olimar, Pikachu, Rosalina, Sonic, and ZSS)

OR

We leave next week's ballet open for all... except obviously Luigi who is already getting discussion for this week.

The upside to focusing our efforts into the previous weeks votes is that we can concentrate our efforts onto characters who people are actually interested in at this time: but, that means people will have to be more active with contributing to the pacing of this project; which, isn't always convenient.

Leaving the next ballet free for everybody means that if some change their mind, they can go ahead and put in a vote which reflects their change of heart. It just means that I have to re-enter all the applicable characters (ugh) and the votes will seem a lot more parsed far and away from anything remotely close together. This also gives more power to votes; although, this can be both a good and bad thing (good for reasons said earlier, bad because depending on how many people and who specifically votes, it might "taint" something, either pacing or progress, you get the idea).

I'd mention more benefits and drawbacks to each; but, honestly, IDC to explain further and I assume you all to be intelligent human beings who can critically think. Analyze it yourself and let me know what you think should be done.

For now, however, I'll leave the next ballet fully opened because I'm only posting this suggestion now. We shall continue with the routine until then.

Cammy, please leave this thread open for one more week.

Edit: This will be an impromptu vote itself. More informal, for sure. It's... actually more like a survey. If someone can put forth a convincing argument for either or, I might go with that. Otherwise, I'll stick with the voice of the people; meaning: majority rules.

My personal vote is to leave it open for all. It creates motivation for people to actively contribute, and it doesn't completely bury other potential match-up discussions by only looking at a small pool of candidates.

I think it's inconsequential. People are unlikely to change their votes much, even if it was left all open, the candidates that would be in the smaller poll would be discussed first.

Not necessarily. I was actually hoping that the people who voted and got their character chosen would be the swing votes for next week.

... But that's only assuming that everybody who did post last time would do the same next week... If not, I hate those people.
