Haven't you got the feeling this is actually from the story mode?

Also: Do you think the Wii U and the 3DS will get different story modes?

Well, Sakurai mentioned that it showed a "traveling" stage. It's either story mode, or the successor to Mushroomy Kingdom.

Ugh, it's probably the latter. It's a shame, because it looks nice, too. Shame I won't be playing it much...

Don't knock it too hard yet, there is always the possibility that it's treated right. For example, what if it moved, but then stayed still for a certain amount of time, like a Mushroomy Kingdom/Castle Siege hybrid? Then it'd probably be excellent to fight on!

I don't know. Moving stages in general are annoying. I mean even treated right it would be a pain, it can't be helped.

I actually think it might be from story mode. There are WAY too many dropping blocks... from a design stand-point... that is pretty poor design. A scrolling stage with no stand-able platforms aside from the presumably destructible (Frostbite engine?) ones? That sign also bothers me. So my vote goes to story mode.

More vibes, please.

That isn't factual, though. You may not like them, but there isn't anything inherently wrong with them. Different strokes. I personally have always liked the fluidity of moving stages and the randomness and unexpected nature they can bring.

Competitively, I kinda agree, and see what you're saying (hence why many are banned) but when just playing leisurely, I do like them.

Well I was speaking competitively. The stage WILL be banned if it is a side-scroller. Especially one with dropping blocks.

Casually? Yes. I wouldn't mind the stage at all. I might actually enjoy it.

I'm not at odds against travelling stages themselves, I just hate stages whose side blast walls are located on the platform. Meaning you can just get thrown to the side at a low percentage and die. They're just too impeding to gameplay and prone to easy deaths.

The 3ds and wii u will have different story modes i believe, and i hope that is part of the story mode. I wouldn't mind a side scroling stage, but falling blocks that take up the majority of the stage is a BAD idea IMO

I'd like to think it's a story mode stage - Pikachu and Kirby aren't exactly attacking each other, there's a sign that says 'go right' and it looks like Melee's Mushroom Kingdom stage.

The problem is....there are no enemies such as Goombas or Koopas around. While they could have KO'd them, I think they are far too much on the left to do that. It's the spiritual successor to Mushroomy Kingdom in my opinion. I do like it's brightness compared to it's predecessor however! Mario games should always have that colorful and 'happy' atmosphere going, something I thought Mushroomy lacked quite a bit with it's darker color tones.

The sign with an arrow on it tells me that it will probably be a story mode stage...

But the chance for a moving stage is always a possibility. I'd rather not play on another one of those....

Since it has already been said that they are not planning to make an adventure mode like SSE this time around. I could see why people would be uncertain on what that picture is. If their not going the route of SSE I'd guess something more similar to Melee adventure mode which that would fit in pretty well but it does seem similar to the mushroomy kingdom from Brawl as well. It would either bother me much in either scenerio to be honest.

Well, let's assume it's a travelling stage, then suddenly appears a sign that says "the stage is moving this way", you see it and your reaction is...

Do you think it's likely to happen?

I agree with you there. That made me believe more that it is part of story mode.
