Stop the Mewtwo abuse!

I just wanted to point out to people that Mewtwo is not deconfirmed.

The whole deconfirmation rumour can only be done in a few ways.

1) Sakurai says the character is not in the game.

2) The character is made into an Assist Trophy.

No appearing on the sticker list is not deconfirmation. For all we know, this merely means Mewtwo is a villain and villains are not playable in SSE (at least not at that point). Considering Mewtwo was given the role of villain in Melee (judging by the company he keeps), this would not be at all surprising.

The 35-character rumour is not proof of his absence, either. That is a rumour until first-hand evidence arises to prove it is true.

I don't know why people are even thinking he has been cut. I believe it started with the rumours that Ness, then Roy and Marth had been cut, giving the idea that characters with unique movesets were being culled. Seeing as how Ness has been confirmed playable (and most likely either Marth of Roy are coming back, too), this holds no weight in saying Mewtwo is gone.

Finally, Mewtwo and Lucario share a vaguely humanoid appearance. That is really all they have in common. End of story.

P.S. - I am not saying Mewtwo is in, merely stating there is no solid reason to assume he is OUT.

Chances Mewtwo sadly may not return, but he hasn't been debunked yet, so I wouldn't rule him out. I'm going to ignore all these 'roster revealed' things until the game comes out in Japan and it's all official.

I don't think he is coming back. Not only does the 35 character roster look likely but Serebii said it him selve and I trust Serebii to that extent.

But seeing as not everyone shares my veiw point I chose not to bring it up too often.

I fail to see the logic behind cutting him, but it doesn't look good. The only thing that gives me a glimmer of hope is the fact that it LOOKS as though he'll be the only non-clone character from Melee to be axed. Does that not seem strange to anyone else? Why would they choose to only cut one full character? It doesn't make sense. You might as well just throw him in anyway...

I'll only believe it's true when we get the line-up confirmed, and not before. I don't care how many NeoGAF vets put their necks on the line. All I know is if he IS still in it'll be as good as confirming a new character after all this speculation. :D

You people have no logic. Why wouldn't Mewtwo return. Just deconfirming him like him like that doesn't make it so that he won't appear in Brawl. I really don't see why or how everyone can just deconfirm everything. Stop talking as if you made the game. You people are not Sakurai! So stop acting like it geez.

Here how I see it. In melee we had clones. Sakurai said in Brawl he would try his best to get rid of the clones. As I remember it Mewtwo was not a clone or did not have a clone. Mewtwo had an original moveset. In my opinion it would be foolish for Sakurai to get rid of a character that he could easily put in brawl. No trouble at all. I believe Mewtwo will be in brawl as a playable character until deconfirmed otherwise BY THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE, not by some wanna-be Brawl designers . I honestly can't believe Sakurai would get rid of such a good character and moveset. I also strongly believe that Marth will be in brawl No Doubt!.

Sakurai would not waste a moveset unless he had a good reason.

If Sakurai did get rid of M2 he would end up as a pokeball. But I still doubt he got rid of M2.

ya M2 should return low tiers rule . My second main cant leave yet, so much training for nothing . If they get rid of him he better not be replaced with lucario >.> no offense but lucarios cool and all but i would hate him to be a clone or a bit changed form of mewtwo.

That 35 character thing is so stupid...woaw. It's like I'm the only one NOT stupid enough to think it's "100% confirmed". Give me a reason Krystal or Ridley won't be in Brawl either....EXACTLY! THERE IS NO REASON FOR SAKURAI TO NOT RETURN MEWTWO! If Ness is coming back, then why wouldn't Mewtwo=??? Mewtwo is a thousand times more popular then Ness.

When the video showing sticker powerups also showed jiggs and lucario. Despite people attempting to say it was Ninten, or even Pokemon Trainer, the icon next to Lucas in one WAS Ness.

The leak at the oficial page only showed a face sprie for jiggly, Lucario and Ness... That is what confirm them, nothing more, youc an't be sure that when you select an sticker are the characters of teh franchise who appear, because in the same video, a klap trap and a bowser space (mario party) are selected, and guess what no DK, nor Mario Rep was shown in the corner... this means that Dk, Diddiy, Mario, luigi, Peach and Bowser are deconfirmed?.... no really

and for the Brawl 35 character roster including R.O.B. (or in other versions, "ROB 64") it's simply risible... maybe we could get 35 playable characters only, I thruly hope more, but that 35 playables? ._. I mean.. Rob and no Ridley?? (also, boths ROBS are deconfirmed.....)
