Sticker question (SSE)

Ok, what does "Weapon" mean. I thought it was for any attack that used non hand to hand combat (like Swordsmen and Dedede's Hammer). But, some stickers are for characters who do not have a weapon attack. Does this mean items work too? Also, what exactly counts as Slash?

The "weapons" stickers boost the attack power of characters' weapons such as DDD's hammer or Fox's blaster. It can't boost sword attacks though because "Slash" stickers boost them.
