Hey there,
Been a while since I've posted on here but just been wondering something
Did a stickbox replacement on my original controller (got rid of the wobbly one in metal for a newer plastic one) and worked out great. Had to get it from another controller so now I'm down another gamecube controller
Aside from buying Nintendo brand Smash4 controllers to steal stickboxes from, should I just order them from ebay
I see a listing here, and just wanting to know if anyone has had any luck with these?

Those are bottom tier. Source: I bought 20 of them some years ago. They deteriorate quickly and aren’t even really good from the beginning. They are a type-1-like design.

Wii Classic Controllers and CC Pros have type 3 stickboxes. Although I’m not sure any longer whether they are type 3 white or type 3 black. But they can often be had for 10-15$, so it’s worth that much imho.

Okay do you know where you can just buy the parts or should I just find the controllers?

I tried for a long time to find just the stickbox in proper quality. If I had found a supplier, I would have told you about it.

Make sure you buy official classic controllers because they're honestly pretty cheap 10$-15$ like Kadano stated. They are excellent because of the fact that you get two type 3 stickboxes and are much cheaper to go through trying to find one that's good at shield dropping (Easier way is to make notches like Kadano). Use the cap on GC controller, unless you really like the nunchuk/classic controller cap, because they are slightly longer than a GC cap and feel much different when playing. Ever since I started doing this, I rarely ever buy new controllers, except for new buttons, I instead just buy multiple classic controllers online and test each to see how good they are.

That's a good idea. Yeah I've taken up looking into getting classic controllers for the parts to steal :p
I just got a type 3 stickbox put into my controller and it really made a difference. I can actually chain grab as fox now. Before hand I would only be able to get 2 or 3 in a row but now with this I can get 6 or 7. Looks like it was a legitimate John after all :p
