That is a really well thought-out post and all but Staryu was one of the good Pokemon. If you were lucky enough to have Staryu keep your opponent air-borne over the edge, you could easily spike them into the abyss.
Excuse me? No, I think YOU should start thinking. Starmie has NO LIMBS. He is NOT going to be in Brawl, and you would realize this if you put any thought into it.
just because they are your favorites dosn't mean the'll be in. if that were true, sudowudo, toad and alot of other stupid characters would be vetrans.staryu and starmie are my favorite pokemon and i think they should be in

This coming from the guy who said Capt. Falcon would be replaced by Blaziken.
You're the one who isn't thinking. Characters don't get into SSB due to being a single individual's personal favorite. Just because its your personal opinion that they should be in doesn't make it a fact.
Now, take a look at it from an objective point-of-view. What reasons do these Pokèmon have to be in? They haven't played any truly significant role in the games or anime, are not nearly as popular as the Pokèmon icons that have thus far been made playable in SSB (Pikachu, Mewtwo, etc), and are all but unknown to those who haven't played the games; thus there is no real fan demand for them. They're oddly shaped, lacking humanoid forms, and thus would be difficult to do movement and attacks for. Whats more, their role in SSB has already been established - both have appeared as Pokèball Pokèmon, Starmie in the original SSB, Staryu in Melee. In addition, they have nearly 500 competitors for the spots, which are surely not numerous.
Considering all that, they're pretty darn low on the list when it comes to probable playable Pokèmon. One or the other will probably return as a Pokèball Pokèmon, since they have been such in both previous games, but thats the extent of what can be rationally expected to come of them in Brawl.

Oh my God, what is your problem? You seriously need to mellow down a bit and platypus threats are not welcome on the Smash Bords. We all know Staryu/Starmie aren't going to make it in, there's no use making an idiot out of yourself because of it.
