So yeah, hey guys, I'm about to buy my friends Wii off him ONLY for Project M. I've been wanting to do this for years, but only recently discovered the project entailed BALANCING THE ENTIRE ROSTER, a dream of mine I didn't think could come true. So I'd like to ask a few questions before I get started if that's cool.

1. Is it safe to assume the Wii is gonna work with Proj M since it was bought in the states originally?

2. Are SD cards the same for the Wii and the 3ds? Cuz I have one in my 3ds. And how much space will it take?

3. What will I be using to get the Project M data onto the SD card? Some sort of PC to SD card adapter?

4. Soon as I get the game, I'd immediately like to start training my Ganon to take revenge against skilled Marths and Sheiks for the years of imbalanced mistreatment I've suffered. What's his game against the two respectively?

Thanks dudes I look forward to getting into this.

Peace

1. Project M is coded using NTSC-U Brawl so an NTSC-U Wii and respective Brawl copy will work.

2. I believe Brawl only reads up to 2GB normal SD cards, but apparently the PM launcher can use 4GB ones?

3. Yeah, you'll need an SD-to-PC USB device (or even a camera will work if you choose to read files from it).

1. If it's an NTSC Wii bought in the states, then it should be fine.
2. The card has to be BELOW 2Gigabytes if you're not going to softmod your Wii.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-2GB...gital_Camera_Memory_Cards&hash=item5af8685a44 This one for example. Be careful about using other SD cards. I got a two pack of 2 Gigabyte SD cards that arn't Samsung, and as it turns out they're 3.5 Gigabytes. :/
3. If your PC doesn't have an SD card slot, then yes you would have to get an adapter to transfer the PM files. Unless they did something to make it so you could download it from the PM launcher....
4. Idk. I would watch Kage if you don't already. Although he plays Melee Gannondorf, you can still learn quite a bit.

Hope this helps at all!

EDIT: Ninja'd again!

1: Yes, PM works with the American version of Brawl.

2: Yes. If you are using the hackles method, it cannot be any bigger then 2 GB. If you use Home brew, it can be up to 32 I think..

3: Most computers now have built in SD card readers. but if yours does not, then you will need an adapter for your USB. After that, its as simple as drag and drop.

4: I don't really know Gannon's match-ups.. Gonna have to lean that yourself.

For me it is at 1.16 GB But I also have quite a bit of custom music, so it would probably be around 900 MB at the most

I laughed so hard. The sad thing is I would do the same thing.

Well they're SDHC, so I guess I should have figured that they wouldn't work.
They work awesome though, mainly because I sofmodded my Wii before PM.

Thanks for the info so far guys. As of right now I'm still waiting to by my friend's Wii of him haha.

While I'm at it, what's the online play deal with PM? I can't imagine how that works.

For one thing, the online doesn't anymore because Nintendo shut down the Wii's WiFi servers. Or something to that effect.
BEFORE, though, you could play PM with specific friends that you shared your friends code with, provided they had PM as well. You couldn't do a random brawl with random people because none of the had PM, so your Wii would crash.

It was too laggy for me. Netplay works like a dream though. If you can't get that Wii of your friend, and you have a decent comp, you might consider trying Netplay PM.

Thanks to some hacking efforts, there's a custom wifi network (called Wiifis I think?). The default 10 frame buffer still exists though so it's just as laggy. Netplay is a more direct method and much more stable but you need a good computer.

Nah my comp sucks. I'll prob just have to look for PM users in my city. I know they exist. I also have tons of past melee semi-tourney goers who would prob. love to pick up PM (they were equally dissapointed in Brawl and also were annoyed by Melee's imbalance despite its good mechanics, hence PM's creation).

Edit: Also thanks tryst when I get started I'll try that out first thing.
