My husband and I are thinking about opening a LAN center, I was hoping that our fellow gamers could provide us with some suggestions and precautions.

Once the business is open we've decided on hosting tournaments for the following games:
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty 4
Halo:ODST
Street Fighter 4

EDITS: adding to the gaming list-
Super Smash Bros Melee
Left 4 Dead
Left 4 Dead 2
Gears of War
Gears of War 2
Call of Duty: WaW
Starcraft
Starcraft: Brood War
Rock Band
Rock Band 2
Mario Kart Wii
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
World of Warcraft
Aion
Guild Wars
Guild wars 2
-Console and PC-(feel free to suggest more games)

suggestions from users:
-Comfortable Chairs
-No food a the gaming area(drinks are ok if cup holder is on the chair???)

We are thinking about opening up our center in Los Angeles, California. We are looking at the following cities: Long beach, Lakewood, and Cerritos. If user in these areas would please give us feedback on whether or not they would like to have a LAN center in the community.

I appreciate all the comments, they are very helpful!

THANK YOU!

Sounds good, I sometimes go Lanning with my mates.

A couple suggestions:
---Have really, and I mean Really comfy seats. Guys will be on that PC for at least 4 hours straight playing MW, not to mention them DotA addicts. So yea, back support.
---Sell energy drinks and bottled water and if you want, food.
---Patch up games fully. Don't want to be playing and find out there's that glitch or items/stuff are missing.

I don't know about precautions, but don't allow people to bring in greasy food and play, there's a KFC across the road and one time my mate found a chicken bone, and the keyboards and mouse were extremely greasy. Different places have their own rules on food and drinks being brought in, up to you.

Games need to be co-op no matter what. 'Killing floor' or L4D are good.

Pretty obvious stuff haha, good luck with your business.

You don't need Halo 3. The only reason you should buy Halo 3 nowadays is if you want to play the campaign. ODST already contains all of the Halo 3 multi-player maps and 3 2 new ones. I'd also recommend having Super Smash Bros. Melee as an alternative to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. And you can't go wrong with CoD4 or MW2! They both have top notch multiplayer! And MW2 has the new 'special ops' mode! (2 player co-op!)

And some additional games I'd recommend would be:

Left 4 Dead (excellent for co-op and versus mode!)
Left 4 Dead 2 (awesome for co-op and versus mode! again!)
Gears of War (co-op campaign and multi-player)
Gears of War 2 (co-op campaign and multi-player)
Call of Duty: WaW (for the co-op campaign and multi-player if you fancy it)
Starcraft (probably one of the best PC games to ever be created by man. The campaign is good but the game really shines in it's multi-player!)
Starcraft: Brood War (same thing as Starcraft but with a brand new campaign, multi-player maps and new units!)
Rock Band (the ideal 'music party game')
Rock Band 2 (same thing as Rock band but with new songs to play!)
Mario Kart Wii (who doesn't like mario kart?)
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (4 player co-op fun!)
