Star / Screen KO become more rare

Hello everyone!

I've been playing the 3DS demo for a few days, and i notice that the star KO don't always happen, the characters just "explode" like the classic KO. So i watched some video of the complete game and it seems this happens too.

My question is: Why? Why sometimes the characters make a star KO and sometimes don't? I know that the star KO doesn't occur if the time is finishing, but this even happens if the time left is "1:45" (random example) :/

Not sure why, actually. Maybe because it gives more time to actually play and less time for your opponent to taunt you? lol

towards the end of a match (30 seconds I think) star KO's wont happen, they will just blast

it's so that if you die you die, and that in the final moments of a battle if you get a kill it will help ensure it actually counts as a kill

Yeah, but there is a rare chance you will still get star koed near the end of the match. Screen kos are just hard to occur.

I'm pretty sure that Star KOs only happen if you knock the opponent far off the stage, a near excessive amount, so that could be the issue
