For those of you who've played it, of course.

Let's start with these questions.

1. What are your favorite characters, and your favorite team to use.
2. What is your favorite battle skill setup with those characters, and what symbology do you prefer to use?
3. Do you use IC (Item Creation) or not?
4. What is your favorite boss battle?

1. My favorite character, by far, is Mirage Koas. My favorite team is Fayt, Maria (manual), and Mirage.

2. Favorite battle skill setups.

Fayt

Short-X: Blade of Fury.
Short-O: Air Raid.
Support 1: Critical Hit HP.
Support 2: Common Support Symbols.

Or...

Short-X: Increase HP/MP damage.
Short-O: Increase HP/MP damage.
Long-O: Divine Blade.
Support 1: First Aid.
Support 2: Critical Hit HP OR Common Support Symbols.

Favored Symbology: Healing, Lightning Blast, Explosion.

Maria (manual)

Long-X: Scatter Beam.
Long-O: Pulse Blast.
Support 1: First Aid.
Support 2: Common Support Symbols.

Or...

Long-X: Magnetic Field.
Long-O: Energy Burst.
Support 1: Critical Hit MP.
Support 2: Common Support Symbols.

Or, if no Item Creation...

Long-X: Magnetic Field.
Long-O: Radiation Bots.
Support 1: First Aid.
Support 2: Common Support Symbols.

Favored Symbology: Healing, Power-Up, Angel Feather.

Mirage

Short-X: Aerial Assault.
Short-O: Avenger Charge (favorite skill in the game).
Support 1: Critical Hit HP.

Or...

Short-X: Sphere of Might.
Short-O: Infinity Kick.
Support 1: Critical Hit HP.
Support 2: Common Support Symbols.

Favored Symbology: Healing.

3. It depends on the difficulty. If I'm playing on Universe then I do not use IC. I only use IC if playing on 4D (where it's almost necessary to survival).

4. Favorite boss battle, by far, is Luther. He has amazing dialog (WALLOW IN DESPAIR!), awesome attacks (Flaming Divide, Perfect Symmetry, and Insanity Prelude), and is just an overall very wicked-looking character.

Cliff has to be my favorite guy in the game. He's like the character that Cloud should have been.

I'm like 30 hours into the game and I quit after I got lost two years ago. I should play again, eh?

My favorite party is always going to be Fayt, Maria, and Cliff. They're too good. And yes, IC is necessary to survive 4D mode unless you like 10 minute random battles.

Also, fighting the Valkyrie Profile characters was the best.

I still haven't finished it. A very boring game. The battle system saves it from being a total loss though.

I heard it will take place before Star Ocean 1 so we won't hear anything about SO2 or SO3. =[

I'm planning to get a 360 in the future, but I'd rather that SO3 be on the Wii. The Wii is more innovative in its controls and engines, and the graphics would do well on the Wii, being that Star Ocean is bright and colorful but not exactly detailed.

Is anyone else repulsed by using Peppita? She pretty much DOMINATES the entire game, but I just can't stand her personality.
