So this is pretty important. It would appear each pokemon has an ability, depending on the pokemon. This could very well lead to some very critical moments in high level and casual play if you know what you're doing. it is important to note this only affects Duel Phase.

  • Pikachu Libre and Fennekin can charge the support gauge much quicker in high stance mode
  • Chandelure and Gengar an avoid all low attacks with high stance, and can dodge all high attacks in low stance.
  • Gardevoir and Sceptile can recover 6HP of recoverable health per second
  • Charizard is immune to grabs in high stance
  • Garchomp and Machamp can ignore the hitstun of one heavy or light attack per stance
  • Blaziken can block high projectiles in high stance.
  • Pikachu, Mewtwo, Shadow Mewtwo and Garchomp* can all recover the synergy gauge in (Garchomp charges his in low stance, every other character charges in high stance)
  • Machamp, Blaziken, Mewtwo, and Shadow Mewtwo can block all low attacks with the low stance.
  • Weavile in high stance will recover it's shield much faster
  • Suicune in high stance will recover from debuffs much faster.

I'll be sure to update this list as we discover more things!

It should be noted that Mewtwo and Lucario's recovery speed using High-Stance are largely useless. From empty to full, it takes upwards of 2 and a half minutes for the both of them. Shadow Mewtwo, in contrast, takes 40 seconds to charge to full, so it's actually worth it to do at a distance.

Recovery rate needs to be measured for each character, because even the same effects have different rates per Pokemon.
