heard somewhere before (dont remember) that DHD's barrel won't get stale because it's a projectile & special move.

I just tested it with the 3ds version and that seems to be the case with both the can and the pigeon with both doing about 10 damage even after 10 uses on the same life

Did you test it in a smash or in training? Stale-move negation doesn't apply in training.

Whoa whoa whoa, there's a penalty for using the same moves over and over? My mind is blown...how come i've never heard of this???

Just tested this in smash mode, duck hunt is affected by stale moves like every one else. To bad, I liked feeling special XD

Projectiles do have a special property with regard to stale-move negation though (although it only applies to spammable projectiles, so duck hunt's are excluded). If you spawn a projectile a 2nd time before it hits the 1st time, the stale-move negation from the 1st won't affect the 2nd, because it's determined upon spawning rather than upon hitting.
