Jah, well I decided to do a thread to see other people's opinions about smash stages. I also give some of my opinions to them. Shows stages, unlockable stages and secret stages.

This is a summary of Smash 64 Stages :

STAGES

1. Peach's Castle

First, there is Peach's Castle(Mario's stage). This stage is good for Donkey Kong, C. Falcon, Samus and Mario. New combos can be created because of the bumper over the level. It's hard to die on the upper platform because of the bumper but also because of the two angled floors at the left and one at the right.

2. Congo Jungle

Second is Congo Jungle(DK's Stage). It is good to play Link or Captain Falcon. Chances are, you may get took inside the barrel under the stage after a meteor smash or failing to recover on the stage. You can pass through the platform from under it.

3. Hyrule Castle

Third is Hyrule Castle(Link's Stage). This is the favorite stage of most smashers. It is good to play every character, since they all have combos in here. The tower at the right is good for wall combos and for not trying to die when you have high percentage.

4. Planet Zebes

Fourth is Planet Zebes(Samus's Stage). A lot of people hate this stage, and that's probably because of the lava that goes up and down. Lava may kill you starting from percentage arround 100 to 125%. Luigi and Samus are good to play on this stage.

5. Yoshi's Island

Fifth is Yoshi's Island(Yoshi's Stage). I think this is the worst level you can take, because of the big space you have at the right and easy recovery with the clouds, without forgetting about hard combos. Luigi is the best character to play on this stage.

6. Dream Land

Sixth is Dream Land(Kirby's Stage). This is the best level for aerial moves, meteors and combos. Captain Falcon plays great on this stage, hardest is Samus. The wind may be annoying making fail combos. The wind can also make you do a great taunt cancel when it blows at the left side(or at the right side when you are on a platform).

7. Sector Z

Seventh is Sector Z(Fox's Stage). It is the biggest level of the game. It is bad for playing Link or Luigi. Samus, Captain Falcon, Fox and Donkey Kong plays great in it. The most annoying thing in the level is probably arwings, and I bet you noticed they have really good aiming. This stage is a challenge for Luigi Ladder.

8. Saffron City

Eigth is Saffron City(Pikachu's Stage). This stage is good for playing Fox, Samus and Link. Ness is very bad on this level. Special thing is the Pokemon box at the right, where random pokemons comes out and do their attack. They only go out after a little while (you will see a white light coming out from the box) or if you go close to it. You can get Fox in the box with a glitch (found by SuPeRbOoMfAn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkyuIjYxc4k ).

UNLOCKABLE STAGES

1. Mushroom Kingdom

First is Mushroom Kingdom(Luigi's Stage or Mario's Second). It's a fun stage to mess arround, and find a bunch of combos with the piranha plants and Pow blocks. The piranha plants goes out from a pipe, and if you point the stick down when you're on the pipe, you will warp to another one (There is 3 in total, one at the right, one at the left and one at the center, under the two balanced platforms). This stage is good for all characters except Ness and Yoshi.

SECRET STAGES

1. Zako

First is Zako(Polygon's Stage). This is a stage you can only get in VS modes with cheats. This stage is like Dream Land but there is no wind and taunt cancel is harder on the platform. This stage is great for Captain Falcon, Donkey Kong, Fox and Samus. Code to play in the stage : 8018F1B1 000E

2. Race to the Finish
(No image yet :( )
Second is Race to the Finish(Smash Stage). If you play in it in VS mode, it's almost impossible to die, but you will finish at 999%, doing a strong attack and the opponent will clip through a wall. This stage isn't good or bad for anyone, it's a stage made to join the freaking polygons in 1P mode. Code to play in the stage : 8018F1B1 000F

3. Explain Stage

Third is the Explain Stage(Smash Stage). You see this stage at the beginning when you open the game if you wait (after the smash intro)This stage is similar to Final Destination but it is smaller, and there is no shooting stars :( . There is also a platform at the left. Kills are very easy to do at the right side. All characters are good in this stage. Code to play in the stage : 8018F1B1 000B

4. Kirby Beta Stage

Fourth is Kirby Beta Stage(Kirby's Stage). A... beta stage of Kirby... Yea well, what makes it special is the platform can be ledge-grabbed, and you can pass through the level when you're under it. Code to play in the stage : 8018F1B1 0009

5. Kirby Beta Stage 2

Fifth is Kirby Beta Stage 2(Kirby's Stage). It's bigger, you can pass through the platform from under the level. This stage is very weird, but its fun. There is an invisible floor over it. Code to play in the stage : 8018F1B1 000A

6. Metal Mario's Stage

Sixth is Metal Mario's stage(Metal Mario's Stage). It's the level where you fight Metal Mario in 1P mode. It's pretty special and big. (The space arround the stage.) Code to play in the level : 8018F1B1 000D

7. Final Destination

Seventh and last of the secret stages is Final Destination(Master Hand's Stage). It is the best stage, but it's sadly unplayable in VS mode. This level is good for every characters, and it's pretty special. No codes to play in it.

Woah, that took a while to do! You can now tell your opinions about any stages.

A very nice idea, but I think you've made a few minor mistakes.

For example, I wouldn't say that it's hard to die off the top of the screen just because of the bumper: If an attack's strong enough to kill you off the top, and you hit the bumper, the chances are you'll go flying quite far off to the side.

I know, I meant because of both the bumper and the angled floors. Thanks still :)

Link on Sector Z is better then you think, because of its size Link isnt forced to recover as much, and thats one of links biggest downfalls. Kirby also has a very easy time here, comboed Fsmash =.=

CF and Link dont have an easy time on Kongo due to very very easy Ledgegaurds...Dtilt anyone?

Recovery has no importance if you have combos. Link's combos are mortal and most of them finishes with attacks that propels the opponent by the sides of the stage. Sector Z is a huge stage, and dying at sides of the level is hard, and specially if u have low %.

That's not the point. Link has an easier time staying alive on Sector Z, like Hyrule, so it's overall a much better stage for him. One of the reasons Link is so terrible is because of his recovery.

So you've decided to only rate the stages on finishers...alright...bias?
