Smash Journeyman
I made a similar thread in the Wii U section first, but I thought, why not make a list for the 3DS version too? I have a few groups that I'm going to put the stages into, just because I like to organize things lol. I'm also not including Battlefield or Final Destination since they're staples.
Oh man, I meant to click the one next to it...
-Balloon Fight: Soooo easy to get killed. You have to play this one on time, or have like 10 stocks to have a decently lengthened match. I really do like the concept though, and I want to like it
-Dream Land: Unlike 3D land, it's pretty cramped, and I always feel so nervous on here in All-Star mode.
-Gaur Plain: A washed down version compared to the Wii U
-Golden Plains: I really do like all the stuff that goes on in this stage, but it doesn't feel particularly fun to me, for some reason.
-Magicant: It may come as a surprise, but even if the Flying Man wasn't an enemy, I would still feel like this stage is lackluster. Not a lot goes on in my opinion, and it feels sort of small. I actually like the Flying Man fyo; it's so fun to see him screw around with everyone XD, but only one in a while...
-Tomodachi Life: Don't like the basic latter platforming design, and the blast lines are pretty close.
-Brinstar: Wh- Why is this back?! Also, Brinstar Depths gives me nightmares 0_0
-Jungle Japes: fhedfdjhrhdsfnjdjdn!!!!!!!!!!!
-Distant Planet: Boring...
-Flat Zone 2: Camera too panned out, music is bad and the hazards interrupt frequently.
-Green Hill Zone: I wan't a decently proportioned surface to fight on, not a skate-board park!
-Mushroomy Kingdom: Doesn't fit the graphics of this Smash game, and we didn't even need another Mario stage. Btw, it's only HALF THE STAGE!
-WarioWare Inc.: Never thought the microgames were so fun. Appreciate the concept, but it can be pretty random... too random.
They're pretty cool and I like them, but I'd prefer to play on another stage
-Boxing Ring
-Gerudo Valley
-Living Room
-Pac-Maze: I actually want to discuss this one in another thread
-Paper Mario
-Pictochat 2
-Wily's Castle
-Tortimer Island
-Corneria
I really like these ones, and I usually pick them
-Find Mii
-Mute City
-Reset Bomb Forest
-Spirit Train
-Yoshi's Island
Top 5
5. Unova Pokemon League: I like the main platform, and the various disturbances that Reshiram and Zekrom make. It reminds me of Spear Pillar, one of my favorites from Brawl.
4. 3D Land: The only side-scroller I like, it is really vibrant, and I like the variety in platforming, and the various sections you go through. I don't feel very rushed to move along, and I think this should be an example of how you make a side-scroller good.
3. Rainbow Road: I'm a fan of drop-offs, so this one automatically strikes me as a personal fav. The cars aren't so redundant like in Mario Circuit Brawl, and the locations are all pretty cool to fight on.
2. Arena Ferox: Unlike Pokemon Stadium, the transformations don't drastically change the arena enough to annoy me. I mean, the transformations are all different, but it's all just platforms and walls when you get down to it. It really spices up the match and keeps me invigorated. It's also legal :D
1. Prism Tower: One of the more basic drop-offs of Smash 4, this stage encapsulates great areas for competitive play, and has enough variety to keep me entertained. I usually go here or Arena Ferox in training mode (mostly Arena Ferox) just so I have a good environment to do whatever I'm doing. The scenery is gorgeous, and the trainer remix never gets old.
What stages do you love or hate? Do you like more here than Wii U? I'd love to see all of your comments and opinions
