Stage Select Screen Alternate Colors

When digging around the common5, I found that a small texture file controls the background color of the Character Select Screen. I was wondering if any Brawlbox wizards know if the same effect can be replicated on the Stage Select Screen without having to use Homebrew methods. I checked the Brawl Workshop, but everyone there is more interested in having the Wi-Fi Waiting Room instead of colors.

Ummm like this?

To change the color of the background there is a texture that you can edit called "MenFigure03Bg" in MiscData[20] in common5.pac. I actually just figured this out today. Still haven't figured out how to change the color of the circles around the Project M logo.

Yeah, exactly like that! You're such a wizard, Amazerommu. For the circle, it's probably something in the Misc20, but I'm just changing mine to black so I don't have to worry about it. I notice that the line colors have varying shades within it. Do you think the image being solid black would effect anything?

EDIT: No, being a solid color does NOT effect the SSS. I can't see it clearly because small TV, but I think changing the SSS colors might still have the standard blue P:M bar at the bottom like changing color on the CSS.

Ah I have figured out how to change that one. In MiscData20's model 'MenSelmapBg' in the 'Colors' folder there is something named "MenSelmapBg_polygon3_lambert14" You can edit that RGBA Pixel Array to change the color of the blue bar. I initially messed around with that trying to change the color of the circle because it shows that model as being associated with the colors. But for some reason it changed the color of the Blue bars at the top and bottom of the SSS.

Just curious, does anyone know how music slots work when you use the hack to increase your stage amount? Do the added stages have music slots of their own or do they just use music from stages that were already in the game?

They have their own music (one slot each). I'll try and find a link that shows the corresponding file names later today.

EDIT: Also, those pancakes do not look ancient. Now I really want pancakes and don't have any...

I must be behind on the music scene; the last time that I used the stage expansion code, they all used Battlefield's song list.

That stage layout looks amazing! Could you possibly provide a download link?
Yeah I can eventually. It kinda reorganizes the stages a tad bit. Just one or two stages moved with libertyernie's stage expansion to make it look that way, but I was going to redo it so that the Project M stages stay in the same place. Basically one of the stages will be moved from the first page to the second with his SSS code.

Edit: Wait... that wouldn't work cause of the 'My Music' screen. Sooo yeah! I'll upload it soon!

Talking about SSS layout, how did you edit it. I am currently trying to figure that out but I am having issues. For example I am trying to replace Caste Siege, Halberd, or PS1 with Lylat, Kongo 64, or Hyrule 64.

Any idea when you'll upload it?

It includes the normal Project M color and the green one that I'm using and 2 edited RSBE01.gct files (regular and wifi) so that the stage show up where they are in the preview pics.

So you just wanna change the icons and such to match those stages? All you have to do is edit the textures in sc_selmap_en -> MiscData[80] in common5.pac. You'll have to find the textures that match those stages and replace them with the SSS icons and such. There ought to be a tutorial somewhere here that can show you how to do it.

Oh I see I know how to edit textures and icons and stuff, that makes sense, so you just replace the Castle Siege texture with the Lylat texture then fix the images. So technically the file will still say castle siege but when you play on it it will be Lylate, wish I had thought of that earlier.

I might just be dumb or something, but how do you edit the RGBA once you access the lambert file? I can add new groups of RGBA things to the list, but I don't know how to change any of them.

EDIT: Or I could just be a scrub and send you a copy of my SSS and you could change the colors for me, Amazerommu.

Haha in the little window thingy to the right, there's a little ellipsis (the "...") that will pop up next to the RGBA Pixel Array. You click that and it'll open a window that lets you change the values of each color and such.

Yeah, I know about the panel, but when I click on the individual values in that window/panel, I can't change them. Even so, I just need to either change the Alpha to 80 to match the P:M value after deleting the current one and making a new one with 0 Alpha, or change the color on the current one to 00 for all of the RGB so it'll match.

You don't click on the values in the panel, there's a "..." that appears when you hover over RGBA thingy. You click that and it opens up another window that will allow you to change them.

Do I stack this on top of the SSS expansion set on KCMM?

Maybe I was being too vague. I access the lambert. I expand the colors tab in the Misc section in the panel. I click the ellipses to open the new window. When I click on the values on either the right or left side in the new window, I cannot change them. I right click to open something up on both value sets, nothing. I double click, nothing. Both Delete and Backspace do not remove the numerical values. I try Select All and copy/paste different values, I don't get a paste option. Do I need additional resources to be able to do this, or am I just really dumb?

Weird... it should just let you change the numbers right there. Are you using the latest version of BrawlBox?

I'm using .68d. When I go to open it, I get an RGB color slider, but when I change the color and minimize the pallet window, it doesn't save any changes I made. Which version are you using?

I'm also using that version. I'm not sure wh.... wait where are you going to change these colors? It should be in the 'MenSelmapBg' model under 'Colors'

The window that pops up should look like this:

You can change those numbers on the right directly. Once you hit 'OK' it should save the changes. To make sure I'm changing numbers to a color I want, I usually find it in an image editing program like Photoshop or Paint.net (easier imo) and then put those values in BrawlBox.

Probably not the right topic to ask on, but since this should likely be so similar I figure I may as well.

I got this to work from following your previous explanation, but which file do you alter in order to change the exact same thing on the CSS?

Haha I have no idea. Haven't messed around with the CSS yet. Shun might know tho as he's already messed with it a bit in his custom CSS that's available.

Okay, when I was using BB .63, I would get a window similar to that one, but with the values in a fixed bracket., similar to the bracket beside the highlighted
[0]. I do not have an ellipses in this version, but did in the old one.

Now, when I click on the arrow to bring up what would usually be a window similar to yours, here's what I get.
2013-08-12_175552.png

I can change the values on the side, but they just revert when the pallet slider is not active.
At this point, I'm seriously just thinking of sending you a copy of my SSS and having you fix it.

The heck even is that? Normally the ellipsis pops up when you highlight the RGBAPixel Array line. I actually just messed with that myself having now been introduced to it, and it will change the values for me. Your BrawlBox blew up or something lol

Yeah, I don't know what to do. Could you just PM me a basic PM sc_selmap with the lambert changed to black? Then after the SSS is done, I can get to work on changing the blue bar on the CSS to black. Thankfully, Shun_one pointed me in the right direction with that one.
