Stage select for online

If brawl does go online, which I think it has a very good chance to, how will you determine which stage you fight on?

If they have these 'ranked matches' like they do with Mario Strikers Charged who will pick the stage? Will there be a 50-50 change of either player picking the stage? If that is so will the characters be already selected before either player picks? Because that can lead to unfair advantages. Or will the computer pick the stage at random?

Discuss.

Possibly host picks if you can host a game. Or it handles it like all the other Nintendo Wi-Fi games I've played, each player picks a stage and the computer randomly picks one of them unless multiple people voted for the same stage. Or it could be loser/winner picks.

But if the host picks will the characters be selected before or after? Say if someone picks Fox and the other picks Bowser and the Fox player gets to choose the stage he will just choose Hyrule Temple. How can this be fair?

FOX. ISN'T. FAIR.
You'll just have to deal with it if it happens. In Metroid Prime: Hunters, Sylux has an advantage on the level Headshot because he can fly around the outside of the level using his bombs after gaining a kill and it's almost impossible to stop him.

Voting on a stage is good, but then what happens if its a tie? Does it go at random?

I think it should just rotate like Dead Or Alive. Host picks, next person picks, next, rotate etc.

Except with Nintendo's online system, there is no host.

I'm guessing that the first stage is voted on and then loser picks after the first game.

Probably similar to how mario kart DS does it. Every player is going to choose a stage and the computer will pick one out of those stages. So if every player chooses a different stage, there is a 25 percent chance that one stage will be picked.

My thoughts (AND hopes) exactly. It's just one of the better ways to make stage-selecting fair for all competitors in a match.

Also, if you play 1v1, you could do it the same way we do now. You just let them pick, then you pick the same. Unless you can't see what they pick, then it just sucks.

:p.

I'm goin' with the host of the room/match/game, whatever it is.

Just like how I Play Gunz, KwonHo, and Soldier front.

The host chooses the map.

Kind of like Xbox Live, huh? Nintendo should try to at least make online similar to the Xbox online system since it's a great example of online play.

yeah, without a doubt it is.

It should be viewable to players. They should have something like this:

Started at. 12.11 p.m.
Finished at. 12.19 p.m.

EDIT: Where 1/4 is the player's in the room.

The Cancel? i don't know wtf the symbol is called, where it cancels the mushroom meaning no items. It'd be uncanceled? (:?) if there were items.

"No Items Match!" is what the host would name the room.
