Stage Select Assets

How does the PMBR get their icons to look so clear and professional?

For stages without icons, I've been going into clear Brawl and taking snapshots, converting them to jpgs and then to pngs and making the icons like so but for some reason they never look so good...

Is there a secret to making these stage select icons, previews, etc.?

I use Dolphin, pause the game in fullscreen on a tiny, invisible match, and take a screenshot as a png. Not sure how the PMBR does it, but it has worked pretty well for me.
