So I'm relatively new to the smash community, and I've been binge playing PM.
I'm also an animation student. As my final, I decided to make a reboot 3D version of Dreamland.
Heres my result so far:

I plan to remake all the 64 stages into 3D, as well as some reboots of some of the brawl stages.

I love it! My only issue is the texturing. Will the finished product look something like:

Awesome! Dreamland 64 is my favorite smash stage.

Yeah, I'm going to do a retexture after I submit my final for school. ( I have to keep the textures minimal so I can animate my characters without a lot of lag.)
But after that, I'm going retexture everything appropriately, and brighten it up a bit.

The only problem is I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a lot of the textures ( especially the one for the sky dome)

I was also wondering if I should just redo all the textures to make them look a little less flat, and cartoony, while still keeping fidelity to the stage.

I have all of the textures (and a Brawl import of) the HD Dreamland from the picture. A version with a 3D Background exists(using Green Green's BG) but I'ver been ahving trouble with getting it to work with the HD textures, without either crashing the file4size, or ending up back at N64 quality.

By the way, I got the green greens background working! I found out what was the problem. Nintendo(for whatever reason) likes to add like 9 levels of mipmap to its stage textures. (mipmap makes stuff less blocky from far away, but in Smash you're never far enough for it to matter) Anyways, it was skyrocketing the size of the green greens background.

I don't know the limits of Smash stages, but that looks rather high poly. The tree canopy could more cleverly be composed than of many individual leaves. Textures can create illusion. You should become friends with Texture.

Right now, it's in three dimensions, and pretty high poly. Once I finish with this class I'm taking, I'm going to flatten it a bit, while still creating the illusion of dimension.
