We love and hate some stages. But that doesn't mean they should or shouldn't be legal. I'd like to come up with some standard guide lines that will help us have a more varied, unbiased stage list.

I'll start with some obvious ones until I consider your contributions.

- No permanent corners.
- Temporary corners are for cp only.
- Laggy or glitchy stages are banned.
- No caves of life.

Lets say Dracula's castle for example. Sonic can basically circle camp all day there. He can stay on the platforms with his side B and up B or just run under you across the stage.
Very few characters can deal with that unless you're playing teams.

Neutral Stages: 1-2-2-1 format
Battlefield
Smashville
Pokemon Stadium 2
Yoshi Story
Fountain of Dreams
Yoshi Island
Final Destination

Counterpick stages: 7 stage bans
Halberd
Dreamland
Norfair
Draculas Castle
Castle Siege
Skyloft
Skyworld
Pokemon Stadium 1
Distant Planet
Rumble Falls
Green Hill Zone

Stages cant be used twice unless agreed on by both players
If both players agree to a stage no stage banning is required.
If both players agree random select can be used before and after stage bans if they desire.

Why isn't DL64 a starter stage?
I wouldn't have DC nor DP because Sonic can just run forever after getting a decent lead.

I mean it really doesnt matter if you run away or not due to stage advantage if you have the lead, there is nothing wrong with running down the clock to frustrate the opponent, also there is plenty of time to catch him and space since the maps arent comparable to temple a real stage you can run away in. Also if you dont think you will have control on this stage just use one of your stage bans its completely fair.

Dreamland is a counter pick due to its size and stage boundaries. (I might eventually put it back to a neutral but im not sure atm.

Oh ok, the bans solve that issue. I'll remove that rule.

DL64 was a starter on both 64 & melee, so it's fine here IMO.

GHZ and Lylat seem pretty standard to me.
Lylat doesn't tilts anymore and eventhough it's edges are pretty sharp, Melee's BF were even worse and it's still a starter.

Yeah It wouldnt hurt to put those both into the non counterpick pool, Ill think about it because they are for the most part pretty standard.
