Stage Control

Is it beneficial for characters to control center stage?

Hey everybody i have a question. Ive heard alot about stage control and camping center stage, but heres my question, is it beneficial for each character to do so? HALP :sadsheep:

Usually.

At least holding center stage has a few nice advantages, mainly:
- less room for them to work with. By retreating a bit when your opponent moves towards you, you can sometimes dodge their attack and punish them for the ending lag. If they can't retreat too far, they have to think twice about giving up space just because you move towards them, so they have to pick other options more often.
- If they do get a hit on you, you have more room behind you. Whereas they might get knocked off, a equally strong move will still allow you to remain on stage.
