1st off, why is it that some specific characters like Toon Link won't use their FitCharacter00.pac in the SSE?

2nd, with the current capabilities of replacing Brawl stages with MDL0's (and their related settings) from other games, is it possible to replace SSE stages with such?

1. if you gave me a list of characters that do that, i could probably give you a logical and accurate theory.

2. easily. getting it to work properly with all the spawn points seems like it would be a tedious process though (i just did a DS shell swap so to me it wouldn't be)

I haven't tested everyone, but Toon Link and Mario do this. I believe Luigi has the same problem. I'll go test right now.

Confirmed:
Mario
Luigi
DK
Toon Link

No Main Texture to Determine (as in, I didn't have a FitCharacter00.pac to confirm)
Kirby
Lucario
Zelda/Sheik
PKMN Trainer
Marth
Mr. Game & Watch
Ice Climbers
Olimar
Diddy Kong
Snake
Sonic

Missing a few. I'll get them in a moment.

And good to hear about the other part. Where it would originally be required to do some heavy modification to change the SSE, it could easily be changed just by bringing in big areas. At some point,

My guess is you aren't using a .pac and .pcs, which is normally the problem for why textures won't show up in the SSE.

Yeah, ToonLink DK and Mario work fine for me. Must be that you need a pac ^^

So I need the .pac instead of the .pcs so that they work in SSE too?
Good to know, thank you.

Got it.
As for replacing SSE stages, it'd be cool to get a group together, plan it, hex the models in, set the boundaries, and test it all out. If it's simple as NWAA makes it sound, this wouldn't be that hard to do. I'm still interested in why or how the SSE uses its own 'engine'. Some of Brawl+'s codes like dash canceling, dash dancing, and momentum engine work fine, but there's the old aerial lag, old dash speeds, and (almost) unified character weights that still force their way in.
