SSE Boss Updates

I've been meaning to make a topic about this for a while, but... wtf, Sakurai?

We got ONE boss update XD They went out of their way to give them their own designs, what with the pink gradient background (as opposed to blue) and we got Petey Piranha and that's IT.

I think an occasional boss update would have split up those boring weeks through Christmas to be honest, but with 3/4 days of updates left, I doubt Sakurai will bother doing any more at all. Just seemed like a waste of time to me.

Maybe it's because a majority of the bosses will be unlockable characters who he doesn't want to spoil their character designs for? o_O It could be that. =P

...Raiden? MGS2 Raiden? He'd be an AT or a cameo over a boss.

If there was an MGS character that was going to be a boss, it'd definitely be Ocelot as far as human characters go. Otherwise, I expect to fight a Metal Gear at some point.

A sociopathic mastermind that's the only physical manifestation of the game's true antagonist and has a game devoted to his origin is infinitely superior to some whiny dude who doesn't understand how genetics works.

"Dominant genes." What the hell.

But seeing as how there's looking to be little to no dialogue in SSE, and Metal Gear bosses are all about not shutting the hell up, I'm going to predict that there will be no third-party bosses, especially since third-party characters are unlockables as it is.

Personally, I thought Liquid was kinda lame, except for his last fights against Snake. Everything about him was just...meh. Ocelot, now, reeks of awesome, and has always been the main villain in every game.

Except the fourth one where he inexplicably is taken over by a very dead Liquid due to fanboy requests...I mean uh..."mysterious" reasons!

But still no Cam Clarke. Eat THAT, Liquid fans.

The lack of boss fights isn't a surprise...

why?

Because they realm into spoiler territory. Petey doesn't matter because he's the first level boss. But they sure aren't going to show any bosses who either

a.) Are big parts of the story. As they will probably be fought towards the end.
b.) A major villian in any series.

Rayquaza and Petey aren't major villians. The only other villians we've seen are ones who are playable (Bowser, Wario, etc).

Battles with characters like Ridley and such aren't going to be shown pre-release.

That would be...a freaking amazing AT and everyone knows it. But he'd be my second pick after Ocelot as a boss, easily. Just because Metal Gear bosses won't work...all the models minus Shagohod (not a straight up Metal Gear anyway) are already at SM.
