ssbm emulator preferences

when you play ssbm on an emulator what do you use? i want to get dolphin and play but i dont have any gc controller adapters or a good enough computer/ laptop. i plan on buying one, so tell me the types of settings and controllers you use tp get a good experience.

thanks for giving me that info! also (this is off topic) im in roswell ga and live closer to atlanta! what tournaments do you go to for sm4sh and melee?
