SSBB freezes at loading screen?

So my cousin and I are trying to use hacks on SSBB through Gecko. (Latest homebrew version, wii 4.3U, Gecko OS 1.9.3.1). Note that gecko says the codes are found and are applying. The problem is that while the game is loading, the spinning smash ball icon freeze and the game has frozen. The codes I'm using are pretty subtle I'd say (Unlimited and overlapping stage parts, Diddy infinite final smash). Can anybody help?:070:
