SSB64 player trying to get in on the Melee action?

Hi. I live in San Diego and I play smash 64. recently i've been trying to play melee but i don't think playing cpu's is gonna help my game out. would anyone in san diego help me out by coming over to my house or vice versa and play? i can't do tournaments right now cause i'd be losing money or are there friendly stations in SD tournaments?

i'm a senior in HS and i'm 16 (i don't have my drivers license so i can't drive right now but i'm working on getting it)

There's an SD thread in the main PacWest forums. You should ask there. Also, don't be worried about going to tournaments and losing money. Your money will be well spent just from the experience, the fun, etc.
