Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Super Smash Bros for 3DS are the official titles.

And for the record, they are not lame titles. It's a play on words. It's the fourth Smash title and it's on 3DS and Wii U. Hence, Super Smash Bros. FOR 3DS and Wii U. Get it?

When I first saw the titles I thought they were crappy too. Then, one day later, it struck me. Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS = Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U and 3DS. In my mind, I was looking at Sakurai with this face:
