Characters and Music in are both important elements of the Smash Bros. series. Characters are the selling point of the series, and Music creates the atmosphere of the battles. So I had an idea: Why not tie them together?
Here's the idea:
The soundtrack of SSB4 would be directly associated with the characters. Each character gets their own "theme song", so to speak (rather than stage themes). Each character has one theme for the Wii U version, and one theme for the 3DS version. All of these themes are original remixes; no direct rips from other games.
The player can select the song to play before a match, instead of it being set for each stage.
Why would they do this? Firstly, promotion. Each character's theme is promoted along with them. When the game is released, a promotion CD would be released featuring all the songs in both versions of the game, including the character theme songs. That way, Nintendo could advertise not only the music, but the characters as well.
The CD would either be released on it's own, or as a pre-order/special edition prize.
