Gimmicks: Koopa Shell & Fury Gauge
Koopa Shell is a defensive armour mechanic that prevents Bowser from flinching while being attacked and makes him immune to the Burning Status and Shield Stun. Physical attacks dealt to Bowser's back are neutralized and countered with the spikes on his shell dealing damage to the opponents (It's also immune to any projectiles). Running into or jumping onto Bowser's shell while he is crouching or performing Shell Spin also deals damage to the opponents (Bowser's invicible while he's retracted). The Fury Gauge is a two function comeback mechanic, taking the form of his health bar from Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and his signature emblem combined and can be filled up by gaining Fury Points (FP).
Fury Points are gained by attacking fighters, taking attacks dealt to his shell or having damage dealt to Bowser. (Bowser gains 5 FP per attack dealt to opponent, 10 FP per foe throw, 15 FP per attack dealt to his shell and 20 FP per attack dealt to him. He can only gain 300 FP per stock).
Pressing "L/ R + A" with any amount of
FP in the Fury Gauge, Bowser enters his Fury Status based on Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (and Bowser Jr.'s Journey). When the Fury Status is activated, Bowser becomes angry and glows red, allowing his attacks to become twice as powerful, but also alows his defense to be twice as weak. This neutralizes Bowser's Koopa Shell gimmick as a result, making him flinch and mostly makes his back vulnerable to any attack on his shell (unless he uses Shell Spin). The Fury Status can also be actived if Bowser takes too much damage. Pressing "L/ R + A" deactivates the Fury Status, halting the depletion of the Fury Gauge's energy. (During Fury Status' use, the Fury Gauge's energy depletes 5 FP per second, meaning the full use duration for the Fury Status is a minute (300 Fury Points = 60 Seconds).
Of course, when the
Fury Gauge is full it's second function allows Bowser to gain a bigger, badder and furious form.

Then with a flash of light, he exits his shell and becomes Fury Bowser (This can be used as a counter).
