Hello, i want to start playing ssb64 online, something that i´ve always wanted but didn´t actually know it was possible before a few months ago. So i have a few questions, hope someone can help me answer these.

- Is ssb64 online even active?

- Do people play with a adapter+analog stick, or with a keyboard?

- Does analog sticks even work very well on the computer, or is there some sort of dysfunction when trying to use it on a computer?

- What adapter would you recommend that i should use for conecting my n64 analog stick to the computer?
If it helps, i run windows 7, 64 bits.

Hope someone can help.
Cheers :)

Welcome.

Read the index for more info on how to play online, etc.

-Online is active, you can get games almost 24 hours a day
-Anything you can make inputs with can be used as a controller on Project64: keyboard, usb gamepads, xbox controller, playstation controller, n64 controller are most common but if you wanna be hipster you could find a mouse with a bunch of buttons, a universal tv remote, a joystick, a dj set, a kinect?... as long as you can connect it to your computer, you can map the keys to it on project64, you just need the right adapter for your device. I started with a logitech F310 and switched to N64 controller when I got adapters.

The thread quoted above has some info about different adapters but the summary is that mayflash is okay, but raphnet is better. I got mayflash and after a little tweaking its pretty good but nothing will ever feel EXACTLY like console.

As far as getting started, this thread has everything you need to know: http://smashboards.com/threads/smas...e-like-dirk-king.262536/page-11#post-15505307

I read through it and then downloaded/tried each emulator until I found one that worked for me. I think it was the 3rd option, which ended up being Project64kVE. You should probably go through the process yourself though.

Good luck and see you on the server!
