So pretty much every Sonic I've played, except for about two, has been an arrogant ****. Just got 2 stocked and insulted by 1 on FG as Shulk. Gave him an honest fight. Tried my best. Couldn't keep up. Tells me I'm bad and leaves.

I know this is typical FG behavior, but why are Sonics so consistently dickish? I'm sure you're all stand-up guys, but the character seems to attract a very specific kind of player. Like they have to channel his "attitude" through the game. Been a Sonic fan for a long time and I they're giving the character a bad name. He wouldn't be that much of an ass to people he was just having a sparring match with, but it's not like my personal headcanon matters much.

That being said, I'd love some matchup experience from somebody on this board. Help me overcome the pain. I enjoy fighting good Sonics with Mega. I just discovered he could shield cancel his spindash, you lucky ducks.

Best way for anyone to learn the matchup is to learn what Sonic can do, and his limitations.
If the Sonic player was being disrespectful through his play style, that just sort of comes with the character and its too fun not to sometimes. If its through messages or whatever, just remember that FG is full of preteens who've just learnt their first swear word and ignore it. Ive only come up against like 2 sonics online, and they both didn't have a grasp of the character outside of dash attacking and going for uair star kos at like 40%.
I'm bad against megaman so I wouldn't mind playing you. I'm not good, but I can show you all the stuff sonic can do.

Also, Sonic would absolutely be snarky while sparring. There's no doubt in my mind. I mean, he's proving it right now in Smash 4 isn't he? That's like, the very essence of his being.

If you've played any game or watched any show, he's basically the Spiderman of video games in terms of battle banter. His taunts and victory phrases wouldn't be so obnoxious if that wasn't the case.

I mean, what's better than losing to a Sonic and being subjected to, "That was almost too easy!"

I agree with ROx4Y! though. If they're making malicious tags or something like that, just don't let it get to you. They're just jerks. However, I do taunt at almost every opportunity against a player online if it's funny because, well, it's For Glory and it's near impossible to take completely seriously.

Also, just going to add that Sonic x Megaman makes for an amazing team. An even better team is Double Sonic x Megaman in triples. So busted.
