There are some seriously stupid sports announcers...especially on ESPN. It's usually the ones that are currently retired players primarily because someone of the crap/cliches that they say are evidence enough that they've taken one to many blows to the head.
Take Mark Schlereth and Merrill Hoge, NFL expert analysts. They never shut up about a team being "physical", in fact they always use the phrase "smashmouth football". In fact, Merrill Hoge is so dumb that he believes physicality is a substitute for talent. While being a hard-hitting team helps, it sure as hell doesn't diminish talented football playing by any means. Schlereth has his own idiotic catch phrase about team physicality..."to beat the best you have to walk up and punch a team in the mouth". While these cliches shouldn't be taken literally, they don't even figuratively make sense either.
I would do a page-long about the king of dumb, John Madden, but there's nothing I could sy about him that he hasn't already been criticized for at some point. Any others?...Discuss. Feel like just posting dumb sports announcer/analysts quotes?...go for it.
