I am trying to help out a Falco user, I would just like to know if it is possible to spike or gimp anybody with the reflector. I know that is possible for Fox but Falco's seems to have changed and I haven't found anything with it yet.

Fox can't really gimp with his reflector in brawl.
Falco's reflector uses besides reflecting is spacing and combo extention.
Thats about it really. Look for this one guy's Reflector guide, named All Things Shiny.

K thanks. And I have gimped with the reflector. Are you just saying that he's better at it in Melee? I'm already aware this. I will look for the guide now....

Fox can still perform a "shinespike." It's not NEARLY as effective as it was in Melee, but it can work on a weaker opponent. I haven't actually tried using Falco's Reflector as a means of gimping or killing though. But after being used to playing Fox in Melee, I still like to use the off stage shine once in a while.

LOL I guess we should change it to "shinegimp". I still get KOs from it but not like Melee. Now the Falco is using his down B to edge guard -- I suppose it's the closest he will get to my reflector use.

I think that is why my friend always shines me when I am off the level. I think he played Melee and mained Fox.

Someone called me?
Guide is in my sig.

Falco's aerial shine can possibly gimp if they have a very very bad horizontal recovery (like ike) provided after the shine you are still high enough to illusion back. (if it is only firebird distance it is not worth it)

In terms of gimping, it is more useful as an edge guard against recovery moves that may kill you(eg stage spike) if you tried to jump out to intercept them. But this limits to them having to be above the ground level of the stage.

Bairs and edge hogging work much better for gimping.

Yeah certainly. I'm just kinda used to it I guess. Plus it offers a flashy kill once in a while, you can't complain about that.

@ "shinegimp" - yeah I think that's a more fitting name haha.
