I actually didn't notice until I saw this video for the second time, but
after Zelda lands her sweet spot spike kick down air on Rosalina,
she hits the floor and bounces up. You can watch it yourself,
go to around 1:15-1:20 and you'll see not sure if this was
addressed before, or something I should already know.

This is seriously a good way to stack up on combos though, don't you think ?

If the clip I saw of Bowser air dodging almost immediately after bouncing of the floor is any indication, this will likely only help with combos for characters that have short endlag on their meteors/spikes (and such moves tend to have a lot lol).

Oh btw, do we know if how high a character bounces is affected by anything? Eg. power of move, victim weight/fallspeed, how far away from the ground they were when struck, etc

In any event, it's a new mechanic and certainly one that merits discussion.

Assuming it uses standard ricochet mechanics, it will lose 20% of its launch power upon contact of the floor, and all the same relative histun. You need to spike them from high to combo into it, spike them from low to kill with it.

Characters who used their spikes to kill on-stage are overall the most buffed overall. If Ganny punishes a failed ledge guard or juggle with a spike, he can get a combo. If he spikes you in a neutral position, it only increases the range of possibilities for it to KO granted that the opponent flubs their tech.

We still don't know how techs interact with this change to mechanics, but I doubt they've stopped working.

I can't recall correctly, but I think M2K said they were teachable, but I've never seen it occur so in not sure. It would make sense if it was, though. I'll ask him next time I get the chance.

Interesting... I hadn't noticed that. Maybe this change is part of what makes the change to Link's Dair more appealing than I initially thought.

Dair combos into itself. lol
My friend played Greninja and used his footstomp Dair and let me tell you, that bounce is NASTY. He did it twice and finished with a back-air or something. You probably can tech it but it was so fast, i don't even thing he tried to do it @.@

well I'd say Zelda's sweet spot down air spike is definitely one of the most powerful.
Try comparing my video with the video right under my post, with mine, when Zelda
spikes, Rosalina bounces pretty high heheh
