I've played brawl online alot.I've dealt with almost all types of spam. Here I will discuss strategies and tricks to use against them.I will update this with moar-

Pika Thunder-

Beloved by spammers, this move brings a large bolt of lightnind down upon foers. It has good launch and if you are hit in air while recovering, your a gonor.

Here is how to deal with them-

Reflectors-
Reflectors send projectiles back at the enemies. Here are the best reflectors

Fox- Down special.
Zelda-special
wolf- down special
falco-down special
lucas- Side smash (timed right)
ness-side smash (timed right)

Absorb

Lucas and Ness have the psi magnet down special. This makes projectiles heal you.

strategy- If you are
playing as lucas and get launched, do your second jump. Then do pk fire away from the stage followed by a quick psi magnet. This propells you further. If you do the magnet right as you go over pika you can absorb it.

Chain grabbing.....

My least favorite.Chain grabs are simply taking advantage of a short period after a character is thrown where they can't attack to grab again.
Quite a few chars. can chain grab.

Falco
Wario
ZSS
IKE (would have never guessed -.-' )
dedede
ice climbers.

Others are out there, buut need certain circumstances.

Strategy-A chain grab is near impossible to escape....

Avoid confronting the chars listed above if the player seems a bit...To good at them.

Try to keep chain grabbers in the air. They can't grab or smash you in air. Note*Avoid the edges in case they try to spike you at an angle.

If you get chain grabbed, possibility to escape depends on the char..If it's a loose onee like ZSS, jump out of it.(she can grab you out of the air like when you almost hit the ground.)

If it is inescapable, wait for them to kill you (assuming they get you to near 200%) then avoid them.

Check back later for updates.

Keeping an eye on this thread
Trolling will be dealt with

Would respond with: most of this stuff is common knowledge. If someone is repeatedly using a tactic, the simple answer is to bait it and counter it.

Ness F-Smash is an awful reflector.

I would recommend taking your notes to a place where people are complaining about spam. It's not a problem for most players.

I feel for dealing with the majority of spammers, the trick to to find the point that their spamming leaves them vulnerable and strike there. While it seems obvious, it can be tricky at times to pull off. Then the topic changes though, as it becomes less of how to beat spammers and simply practice for approaching campers. I find the difference between spammers and campers is that campers will try to mix up to timings to catch you off guard. Campers may change their play style if they notice their strategy not working, while spammers will continue on the same route.
EX.
My friend mains peach, he will sit back all game and throw turnips, using his f-tilt or side special to space if you get too close, then gets aggressive. While this is more of a case of camping (personally), it simply took my a couple minutes to get the timing and positioning down to approach and easily rack up damage.
