I'll check later in the week to be sure but IIRC on battlefield you want to be

In-between the two shadowy things (Megaman has a foot on each one) but slightly off center towards the right side.

Unfortunately I haven't really looked at the spacing on other stages, and the spacing changes if you hit your opponent while moving. Someone else might know though.

Just keep practicing it, eventually you'll do it easily.

On FD, there's two blue chevron shapes on the left side. The chevron closer to the center is exactly at the spacing to edge cancel without hitting someone, and the further chevron is at the spacing for edge canceling after you hit someone.

Yes, you're not going through the shield unless you're using Dropkick or start extremely early though so it's not really applicable for ledge canceling.

If spaced properly could you wizkick cancel through a shield so you don´t go very far and transition into a ganoncide/DJ Bair/B-reversed Dark Fists?

dunno, if you can the proper spacing would probably be at a point where they could just grab you but maybe.

IMO that sounds like it'd work way better with Wizard's Dropkick.

I´ve always felt like the spacing on dropkick was trickier, is it a smaller window?

This is if you don't hit your opponent or their shields.

FD - On the left side, the closest blue arrow to the center.
Battlefield - The circle in the middle of the stage, you want to stand on the outter side of it according to the side your on.
Smashville - This is the easiest one, there is a dot in the middle of the stage, that is the sweet spot for both sides.
Town & City - On the Left side, it's this star on a apple like fruit (Pretty much the star :p ) and the right hand side is on the edge of the cherry closest to the center.

These are good starting points, but once you do this so much, you start to learn the sweet spot very well for all stages.
