Sound based stage Idea

So I do not know how to mod PM/Brawl *yet*, but I want to know what limitations there are in terms of the stage.
My idea for a stage design would be a sound/Music based stage where the background is affected by the music. Something like speakers booming or showing the sound frequencies of the song. I have no idea if this is possible in PM but it would be super cool. If not, what are the limitations as to what interactions and what not can be done with stages?

I heard that it's very hard to add sound effects to stages due to limitations (etc. the Thwomps in Bowser's Castle) and doing stuff between the two is very difficult, but I bet it'd be possible with a lot of hard work. Easy route, probably animate the background in synchronization with the music you want, but I know that's probably now what you mean.

I don't know much either but that's what I'd assume.

What you're suggesting certainly is impossible. Stages can't read the music that plays on them and adapt accordingly.
You'd have to animate the stage to go along with the song you have in mind, in which case would be ruined if you pause the game.

There's a beat block galaxy stage that utilizes this concept in which the blocks disappear in time to the music, however only with the correct song playing.

It's not possible with current stage hacking knowledge. Also, if you animate the background in sync with the music/sfx, it will desync whenever there's any kind of slowdown or if the game gets paused.

Dang, that sucks. Would've been neat. But we already have great stages, so in the end what we already have is great!
