Yeah. I'm pretty sure that most hardcore Sonic fans were all over this once the info on it got leaked, but for those who don't it's definitely worth checking out (and then throwing a random fit of rampage).
The good? Well firstly, it actually seems like Sonic Team finally understood that we like speed in Sonic games. Or, at least, the game trailer makes it look that way. It also seems like they may have gotten the 3-D gameplay right (and hopefully they won't be trying to turn this into the same load of crock that Sonic and the Secret Rings was.
The bad? Well, much to the influence of the crappy fanfiction writers over on fanfiction.net, Sonic is now a werewolf. Yes, that's right. Apparently it's a good idea to rip of Twilight Princess and make Sonic a freaking werewolf. I mean, don't get me wrong, the werewolf teaser for it does make it look kind of cool. But, it's taken away a lot of my excitement over this game just because it's near guaranteed that the story is going to be 100% crap.
But, rejoice, as Super Sonic has been said to return, as well as a plot line that actually centers around the chaos emeralds. This is the first console game (I'm excluding the Sonic the Hedghehog game for the 360 because that was a remake) since... well a long time ago to actually have those as somewhat relevant to the story. Pretty much Robotnik (nobody tell me his name is Eggman. His name is Robotnik) shatters the planet into seven different pieces and Sonic has to use the chaos emeralds to bring it back together.
As of now, only Sonic and Robotnik are confirmed characters, but seeing as Unleashed was originally supposed to be the third installment of the Sonic Adventure series, we can expect to see Tails, Knuckles, and the rest of the crew to make an appearance.
So, what are your thoughts/first impressions on this? I'm personally having mixed feelings right now, as the gameplay is looking good (it's running on Sega's 'Hedgehog Engine' which has been in production for the past three years), but the story is most likely going to suck.
