Sonic related item(s)

I was part of a discussion here when sonic was announced about a sonic related item, but form what i hear all sonic got item wise was Shadow as an AT (i'm angry it wasn't Knuckles, but we can dicuss that another time). So did any item from the Sonic series make it into the game?

there isnt one....i hope it just hasn't been foud yet.........the shield would have been great, darn
