Smash Apprentice
After seeing the video of Sonic's stage, and hearing Sonic Boom in the background, I knew that this game... Quite possibly, will be the greatest game ever made, with the best soundtrack ever. It is only now, that Brawl is in Japan- That it exists somewhere, and I can not have it yet- Do I truly recognize how great of a game it is.
Smash 64 introduced the greatest fighting series of all time, even with that messed up controller! Melee perfected the multiplayer, even after being rushed. It also contained many new and great stages. Brawl, however... It has gone beyond what even /I/ expected. This game took the perfect fighting game and made it's multiplayer better. This game took the Adventure Mode introduced in Melee, and, by simply giving it a storyline, and interesting and unique qnemies, perfected that. Hey, even the stages in Melee were nothing compared to this. Brawl has some Melee stages, and at least 30 of it's own original, unique, and fun looking stages. Hell, they even threw in a stage builder!
But really, now, I see what Melee needed. Online play. I've seen the Wi-Fi Brawl videos! Only a couple of them had ANY noticeable lag! Of course, we need friend codes, and the "with anyone" mode is a let down, but still; You're playing Smash Brothers, in the comfort of your own home, minus artificial stupidity.
The roster is what most people find disappointing. Well, after a few days of knowing it, I can say, for myself, that this roster actually isn't that bad. Ignoring the fact that we knew most of these characters on the Dojo, I see a great roster. I mean, what if you hadn't looked at the Dojo? Would Snake, Sonic, and 33 great Nintendo characters disappoint you? The only 100% clone is Toon Link; The rest of the characters have /some/ difference. I mean, WE HAVE R.O.B.
I don't have the game yet. I base everything I say off of videos. Videos I've seen, showing me the best graphics I've seen on the Wii, and the Smash Bros gameplay I know and love. Is the roster perfect? No. Is the online perfect? No.
We /don't/ have a perfect game here. There's no denying that. But come on; This is NINTENDO. We will get a SSB4. Brawl's perfected most things that were wrong with Melee. When the next SSB comes out, it will improve an already nearly perfect game. Think about that.
That is all. I'm tired.
