Hey Guys

I created this song just using sounds from Samus and ZSS from Sm4sh. Basically just using all her different movement and attack sounds with some voice sounds too. I am hoping to make a video for it at some point but not sure when that will be as it seems really difficult..

Hope you guys like it :)

This is really cool! I'm kinda reminded of the old Melee remix. My favourite part is probably around 0:37 to 0:45. If you decided to do this with any other characters I'd love to hear it.

Yeah the "Samus" bit is my favourite. I imagined it as a dance off between the two and that is the part where Samus shows up ZSS

I am hoping to do others, but I want to do the video for this one first which I am struggling with

Haha I could see that.

Yeah, for a video I'd imagine you might want to go for something where all the clips match with the sounds, but there's a lot of sounds in this song so that'd be kinda hard. Might take a lot of editing. If you need someone to bounce ideas off of or clips for sounds I'd be down. I'm looking forward to seeing this video if you can finish it. Best of luck!

This is awesome, dude! I've done some sample-mixing like this in the past, but it never turned out this good. Great job!
Thanks so much glad you like it :)

I have tried 3 different ways so far, 1 which just cut between all the sounds fullscreen, one where it is just 4 way split screen with a part playing in each corner, and one where it kind of shows the sound being made and then goes and sits at the top of the screen looping in time to the music.

The latter 2 were just pretty boring to watch, and the first one was pretty hype but sooo confusing because it happens so fast and there are so many sounds :( I'd love to hear any ideas you might have :)

Lol seems you've already tried some of the things I'd thought of. I have a couple more ideas. You could try going for the fullscreen version but cut out the clips of the sounds that become more backgroundish as the song gets more complex (like ZSS jab). My other idea might be a bit ambitious, let me know if it's too much since I've never had to seriously edit a video before. What you could do is a mixture of 1 and 3 where you could have the center of the screen be the main focus with you cutting between the main sounds there and then on the sides you could have some of the background sounds. How much of the sides are background sounds would be up to you, but if you didn't want a whole corner of the side screen dedicated to ZSS jab you could have some of the background sounds share screens and just cut between them as well.

I'm kinda tired right now so I hope I made sense :ohwell:.

Yes that made perfect sense! I think the 2nd idea would take me forever to make. The ideas I had, I did about 10 seconds for each and each one took me about 3-4 hours. I haven't done much video editing so something more basic would be best for my first one. I like your first idea though of forgetting about the more basic/repeated sounds and just displaying the more prominent sounds. I'll have a go at doing this in the next couple of days and if I can get something working I'll pm you a short video of it to see if you think I'm on the right track :) Thanks so much for your help :D

Cakewalk Sonar X3 was the DAW. I went through a very tedious process of recording every individual sound and exporting each as its own .wav file, then imported each .wav as a seperate piece of drumkit in "addictive drums 2" Then basically just wrote the track using piano roll :)
