Ok. ive decided on a few songs to choose form for my combo video

the first on is rockfist by thousand foot cruch. this one is in for sure

next one that is like 70% in is helicopter by bloc party.

i need opinions on teh gthird song

I vote, Reel Big Fish- We Hate it When (Our Friends Become Successful).. but you should combo Yoshi and Mario. Heck that could be your entire video! That song and beating up Yoshi and Mario.

sick song, unfortuanatly, non of my friends play mario or yoshi. and i alredy have 98.64% of my clips. im just editing and choosing the final song roster.

I don't like We hate it (sorry)... but about the badadadada song, there is bound to be a Reel Big Fish song like that. I'm absolutely obsessed with the band, so I'm going to find one. I would hate to make you go download all my suggestions though... but I'm going to try anyway. Party down might have some good non lyrical stuff near the end... The intro to Drinkin' is epic. Sell Out maybe? Gaa I love the songs but I don't actually know if they would fit. Oh well, its your problem not mine :D

(pronouced FIZKICKS) more or less a brampton inside joke. and although teh skas not going to fit in with the other songs (i know ti sucks.) maybey in the future i can make or help someone make a ska themed one. This Combo Video is a little more serios then my last one, until shortly after the halfway point. then it gets fun again. the beginning is just EPIC.

Edit: After reading this thread, it gave me a good idea. If I ever put out a combo video (LOL), it'll have to be "Your princess is in another castle....with luigi" And the music would have to be "I want your girlfriend" by the reel big fish. I think that would work great.

Sort of on topic.

If you're interested in ska (which many of you seem to be), and you're not familiar with catch 22, and/or streetlight manifesto. (you're doing it wrong!) Do yourself a favor and get familiar.

Not new catch 22. Original catch22. All the talent from catch22 left the band and went to start streetlight. I like catch better, the only thing streetlight does wrong is the length of the songs (WAAAAAY too long). Keasby nights is the album to look for (and probably the best song on it).

And I like Streetlight better. They are much faster and have more sound. Catch 22 is still good, they just seemed quieter and at times, simply acoustic. Streetlight is like none stop intense fun!

Streetlight doesn't win for one very simple reason. A ska song should NEVER EVER be 6 minutes long. Point/counterpoint and If and when we rise again are streetlight's best. But they get out of hand past the 3 minute mark, and are pretty much just repetitive and unnecessary from then on. (keep in mind tho, that streetlight is one of my favorite bands, Kalnoky's big head just gets in the way of the music sometimes)

Oh and for reference, Clean=/=Acoustic. Distortion<Clean guitar in ska.

Oh, and try this, for fun. Listen to we are the few, but turn it off at 2:16. You'll see what I mean. It's a complete song at this point, and an awesome song, the next 3 minutes just muddles it up. The first 2 though, are as good as anything catch22 ever did. (try it even if you're not the guy I'm talking to directly, it's at the very least interesting)

The aquabats are fun, and I like them. But musically they really don't compare, but that has everything to do with the fact that it's not what they're trying to do. They're goofy and fun, but as far as "better band" goes, no way. I really don't know the slackers.

Well I'm sorry, but the Slackers are pretty much a staple Ska band. And saying Ska songs don't last longer than 3 minutes just simply isn't true. There are mostly songs around that time length, but there are many that do go over an under. A Punk song that goes over 3 minutes isn't punk. A metal song that doesn't go over 2 minutes is an intro or some kinda filler. Ska doesn't fit this because it is so diverse! 3 waves man. Skankin' Pickle breaks the 3 minute mark, Westbound Train breaks the 3 minute mark, Streetlight break the 3 minute mark, The Aquabats break the 3 minute mark, Madness break the 3 minute mark. I can go on and on.

I don't mean to make an argument out of this, you like catch more than streetlight, I don't. Either way, we love good music =D And really, please checkout The Slackers.
